reported by roy Tags: Rise of The Infernals, THE END, WarBook TimesNew hero class revealed on Warcast!
reported by roy Tags: April's Fool's Day joke, Rise of The Infernals, TJQ: when will it be ready?
A: End of March
Q: what new classes?
A: Two. Druidess is the only new class confirmed to date
Q: What are you doing to fix multis, tappers, and the current character imbalance?
A: In game multi reporting, changing the full alert rules, and evening out elites across classes.
Q: will you be making changes to the classes?
A: All the classes will be getting big overhauls. The spirit of each class will remain the same, but the way you play the class will be different.
Q: what are some major differences between ROTI and classic warbook?
A: The biggest changes are in battle calculations and alliance management. Some of the new features are hero items and specialized units.
Q: Will there be some form of protection from 18 LG's in 10 minutes like I received last night?
A: The magical attack and limiting system will be changed
Q: Can we take on Infernals by ourselves? As an alliance?
A: Yes & Yes
Q: Will there be any changes to warbook before roti comes out?
A: The changes to Warbook classic will be limited while most of our effort is put into RotI. Once RotI comes out, we will continue to support and improve both games.
Q: Will this give the current Leaderboard kingdoms an advantage in ROTI or is it more limited than that?
A: There will be some special bonuses (some public and some hidden) for current players.
Q: If you report a legitimate problem and need help, will you reply to them or not bother?
A: Our current "support team" is me and Ben. I have hundreds of Facebook messages, and I can't possibly respond to everyone. I will be moving much of the Warbook support ingame so that I can respond to people more quickly and efficiently.
Q: Will there still be the same alliances or will we have to re-apply?
A: I will be reserving kingdom names, alliance names, and alliance tags for a short (1-2 weeks) period of time after the game starts. This will allow current active players to quickly get established in the new game.
Q: Are the mages unnerfed....
A: Mages will be a very different class in RotI then they are in Warbook classic.
Q: is it WSOD free...?
A: We are putting a lot of money in to top of the line servers to make Warbook blazing fast.
Q: will there be fairys or shapeshifters for me too?
A: Fairies - yes. Shapeshifters - no.
Q: will you make sure there is no tapping?
A: I am doing my best to engineer the game so that tapping is a non-issue.
Q: What is the premise? If it is a new game it must differ from Warbook alot, or is it just a sequel with minor tweaks?
A: The premise is still the same. Hero-run kingdom warfare. The ways in which you customize your kingdom will be a lot different and a lot more fun.
Q: will you be doing anything concerning multies and scripting which currently is a HUGE issue.
A: Ben and I are currently doing an inventory of the current incarnations of scripting out there. We will be doing our best to curb scripting as much as possible for both Warbook classic and RotI.
Q: Will you keep arsing around and changing the rules like you did with this Warbook?
A: My goal is to have a much more balanced game from the start, so that the changes I make don't have to be as drastic as they were in Warbook.
Q: how do you plan on starting it(quick rounds, standings for current acreage etc)?
A: I have some ideas for the way "rounds" would fit in to RotI, but I have no plans to do ANY global resets.
Q: What about the round 1 kids...some of us are still here....also what do u think...cake or ice cream?
A: Round 1 players will have bonus starting gold and a unique item to start. Cake.
Q: WIll there be alliances?
A: There will be alliances, and they will be ***AWESOME***
Q: Will there be any link to warbook
A: There will be a small link to help Warbook classic players get started.
Q: What is the objective of the game for players
A: RotI will have a very extensive leaderboard system. Acres, gold, and level won't be the only things people are rated on.
Q: will there be any advantage to being in an alliance aid-wise?
A: My goal is to get as many players involved with alliances as possible.
Q: what about landgrabs?
A: Ben and I will work on the landgrab issue for warbook classic.
Q: Are infernals a type of Kingdomish thing that we attack? If so do we get the regular land and gold or are there special rewards for defeating infernals?
A: Yes. you will get gold and possibly other things!
Q: The topic asked "Restrict based on IP address?
A: There are a LOT of issues with using IP address to blindly stop players. It hurts players in the same company, house, or network. It hurts people playing multiple accounts across social networks (legal multis). I will definitely be increasing the use of IP address to detect multis and scripters, but I will be cautious to take that information with a grain of salt.
Q: How much does it cost?
A: Free to play, but there will be stuff you can pay for, including but not limited too shwag.
Q: can you still transfer aid to other players?
A: aid will play a much smaller role in RotI than it does in Warbook.
Q: do we fight the infernals and each other or will there be some other goal to achieve?
A: You will attack both infernals and each other.
Q: this is just another version of Warbook, but along the same lines. Not an entirely separate game, correct?
A: It is an entirely seperate game that shares a lot of features with Warbook.
Q: are you going list alliance members?
A: I will be adding many more features to facilitate diplomacy and war between alliances.
Q: How will we know when it starts ... will you put a link in warbook classic?? ... will we have to add another application?? ... Is there going to be any global reset in Warbook classic? ... Why is it called Rise of Infernals? ... Who are infernals?? is it a new hero class?
A: I will announce the start of Rise of the Infernals in game, on this discussion board, in a message to all app fans, and through advertisements. I'll definitely link to it as much as possible.
-- NO GLOBAL RESETS
-- It's called Rise of the Infernals because there are Infernals. I can't say where they're from, or what they want, but you can be sure don't like you. They will not be playable.Sagar asked "How will we know when it starts ... will you put a link in warbook classic?? ... will we have to add another application?? ... Q: Will you have in-game Admins/Gods/Santas for monitoring & policing.
A: Yes.
Q: Will be giving the Warbook Times any inside scoops/screenshots?
A: The Warbook Times will have all the spoilers before I release them to the boards, as we get closer to launch.
Q: Will mages will be able burn half our army in 5 minutes? or any exteme damage in short time?
A: I want to do as much as possible to make it so you can't get utterly destroyed overnight
Q: Will You Introduce Any Sort Of Anti Rust Spell For Auto's Giving Them The Choice Of Rust Or Mana Usage?
A: There won't be rust in RotI
Q: Also Will The Level 50 Cap Be Removed In RoTI? Or At Least Raised?
A: The level cap will be raised
Q: Will Warbook end up on the Myspace platform too?
A: It's a possibility
Q: Are you guys going to have an official website/blog/forum (ie. not just sgn.com)
A: I am considering an off-facebook destination site. It may happen, but probably not right away.
Q: How long did you take to code Warbook?
A: One month
Q: How did you get involved with Freewebs in the first place.
A: I started with Freewebs doing Javascript and Java development.
Q: Have you met Mark Z. And if so, is he cool?
A: Not yet, but I'm a few blocks from his office at the moment.
Q: Did you ever expect Warbook to be this big?
A: Never in a million years
Q: Do you miss people who've quit the game?
A: I miss a LOT of people who've quit. I'm hoping that they'll all come back just to give RotI a chance. The one that comes to mind immediately is Arcane Trixter, but there are plenty more that I wish were still around.
Q: how do you finance this game?
A: Warbook is financed by in-game ads.
Q: do you feel responsible for warbook addicts?
A: A little bit!
Q: Are all the current heros included in ROTI?
A: No.
Q: Last question - how about having funny classes (for those of us with a sense of humor) like a Joker who has easter bunnies as elites and a spell where he shoots pop-corn out of his arse?
A: Dont think so. I'm trying to take the game a little more serious direction
